While the IB programme gives you breadth, A Levels are designed for students who wish to specialise and prioritise depth in their academic programme. Girls will choose three subjects from the current offering of 26 subjects and there is also the chance to complete an Extended Project Qualification. Some subjects are offered to boys from Sherborne School and are therefore taught in a co-educational environment.
All A Levels will be assessed by examination at the end of the Upper Sixth. There will be no public examinations at the end of the Lower Sixth.
The current range of subjects currently includes:
Art, Biology, Business Studies, Chemistry, Classical Civilisation, Design Technology, Theatre Studies, Economics, English, French, Geography, German, Government & Politics, Greek, History, History of Art, Latin, Mathematics, Music, Music Technology, Photography, PE, Physics, Religious Studies (Philosophy & Theology) and Spanish.
