The first two years, Year 7 and Year 8, are known as Lower 4 and Upper 4 at Sherborne Girls.
Our aim is to provide a fourth form curriculum offering experience of a considerable range of subjects which encourages a natural curiosity and love of learning. Girls study English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, French, Religious Studies, Latin, Music, Art, Design Technology, Home Economics, IT and Computing. There is also a strand of Personal and Social Education.
In addition, girls in Lower 4 follow the Leiths School of Food Junior Certificate.
Cross-departmental activities and trips complete this broad and enriched curriculum without the distraction of formal examinations.
This is all packaged within our unique Junior Diploma portfolio, which encompasses not only academic achievement and assessments, but also what we value as education; independent learning, community involvement, presentation skills and the ability to reflect on mistakes, encouraging risk-taking, and an understanding of the considerable associated learning gains.
