Each year there are a number of productions the girls can opt to take part in. There are two joint school productions with Sherborne School for the senior school which have recently included Macbeth, Medea, Guys and Dolls, Sweeney Todd, The Duchess of Malfi and Little Shop of Horrors. There is also an opportunity for the younger girls to take part in either the Fourth Form Play or the Junior Production – recent productions have included Arabian Nights, The Witches, Treasure Island, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe and The Wind in the Willows.
We normally take part in either The National Theatre’s Connections Project or the Shakespeare Schools Festival which allows the girls the opportunity to work with outside professionals, share their work with other schools or youth theatres and perform at a professional theatre such as the Salisbury Playhouse. We also hold an annual house drama competition which allows the older girls to both perform and direct the younger ones. If girls would rather work backstage than perform there are also opportunities to help make the props and costume; run the lighting and sound; do the hair and makeup and call the show.
