The first step for most parents is a visit to the school. We would like to encourage you to visit Sherborne Girls to see the school in action, and to meet the girls and the staff. Visits can be made at either a tour morning or individually. In all cases, the visit will include a tour of the school and meeting with senior members of staff. Individual appointments will allow for the opportunity of meeting the Headmistress.
We recommend a tour morning visit as an initial step if you are looking for a few years in the future, but an individual appointment if you are considering your daughter starting at the school in the next couple of years. To arrange a visit, please contact Mrs Jenny Hinks via firstname.lastname@example.org, 01935 818224.
If you would like to attend a Tour Morning or Open Day, please complete the Events form to confirm your place or contact the Admissions Office.

Open Houses Afternoon
If you have already visited the school and registered your daughter, you may wish to attend the Open Houses Afternoon on Sunday 13 May to clarify your house preferences. For more information, click here.
Those registered for entry at 13+ are invited to a pre-assessment day in the Lent (spring) term which gives an opportunity to see the school during a busy weekend. The students will have short assessments in Maths and English and then have interviews with a senior member of staff. They will have lunch in a boarding house and join in with the Sunday activities which are taking place for boarders in the afternoon. A question and answer session then follows for parents.
All those who are registered for the next school year will be invited to visit Sherborne Girls for an overnight stay during the Michaelmas (Autumn) term. This is an introduction to weekend boarding life. The girls arrive on either a Friday or Saturday and spend one night in the boarding house. They stay in a house with girls of their own age and join in the weekend activities, such as sports or crafts. The boarding taster events for 13+ entry involve a slightly more rigorous programme of events and may include an interview with a senior member of staff. We organise one 11+ and one 13+ boarding taster event each year.
Sixth Form Visits
We do not organise any formal taster events for sixth form entry, but students are very welcome to arrange to spend a day with us to fit with their own busy schedule. Those sitting for a sixth form scholarship will be invited to stay overnight.
Sherborne Girls is located in the small, rural town of Sherborne in Dorset with excellent transport links. Please see our Contact us page for our interactive campus tour and location map. We look forward to meeting you.
