State of The Arts

Supporting the performing arts at Sherborne Girls

Music and drama are at the heart of Sherborne life. In recognition of this, the School is embarking on an ambitious project to build a new Performing Arts Centre.

Girls performing drama

This professional and contemporary space will complement the facilities already in place at the School and will provide new opportunities for technical and practical involvement in all aspects of staging and performance. The facility will serve to lift aspirations, build confidence, enable self-expression, encourage teamwork and promote valuable cultural learning experiences to the girls.

The building will provide a large, flexible space with an audience capacity of over 350. It will be designed to accommodate all aspects of the performing arts, as well as providing a venue for debating, teaching, lectures, exhibitions and film screenings, both for the School and the wider Sherborne community.
