Hockey at Sherborne Girls Independent School

As well as timetabled sport, girls compete in a range of matches and competitions at county, regional and national level. Alongside the traditional competitive sports, including netball, tennis, swimming, rounders and gymnastics the School also provides coaching and instruction in sailing, polo, riding, fencing, climbing, jazz, dance, ballet, karate, golf, Pilates, yoga, judo, canoeing and tap dancing.

The School regularly organises foreign hockey tours providing the opportunity for players to experience a different country and culture as well as being able to compete with top junior players and learn from their differing playing styles.

On previous tours senior teams have travelled to Australia, South Africa and Barbados, while junior teams have enjoyed regular trips to Barcelona.

The senior team has just returned from a highly successful tour of Singapore and Malalysia. The Hockey was of an extremely high standard, with the school winning three out of its five matches, drawing one. It was a trip that was richly rewarding.
