Sixth Form (Years 12 and 13)

Sixth Form (Years 12 and 13)

Sherborne Girls has a thriving Sixth Form of 180 girls from age 16+. It is an important time of transition, the bridge between the carefully structured routine of school and preparation for university.

Sixth Form girls are encouraged to develop greater academic discipline, responsibility for their own time management and a deeper interest in the world around them.

Our academic programme offers a wide choice of A Levels for girls alongside additional enrichment courses such as one-year business language courses, core maths and the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). A small number of lessons are taught across Sherborne Girls and Sherborne School to offer an increased choice of courses.  In addition, we provide a considerable programme of academic enrichment and societies in our co-curricular programme, many of which are offered jointly with Sherborne School and The Gryphon School.

Through our tutor system, we are proud of the individual support we are able to provide our pupils to ensure that every girl is appropriately challenged to achieve success and fuel academic interests.

Scholars have a wonderfully rich and inspiring provision, guided by our Assistant Head Aspiration and Wellbeing.

Sixth Form tutors get to know each girl well and help girls make the right university course choices together with specialist careers and higher education advice who form the Sixth Form Staff Team:

  • Head of Sixth Form
  • Assistant Head of Sixth Form (EPQ)
  • Assistant Head of Sixth Form (Apprenticeships and Overseas Universities Coordinator)
  • Enrichment and Oxbridge Coordinator
  • UCAS Coordinator
  • Entrepreneurship Coordinator
  • Biomedical Sciences Coordinator
  • Art Foundation Coordinator
  • Careers Coordinator
