Academic Results

Our individualised approach to teaching and learning ensures that every pupil is encouraged and inspired to develop healthy habits of learning, intellectual curiosity and range of interests that last a lifetime.

Published school league tables do not accurately reflect our academic results due to the DfE omitting to include iGCSE results (currently English, Mathematics, Drama and History) in the school results statistics. As such we choose not to take part in published league tables. We are proud of our academic results and are transparent in our publishing of all our results which can be found below.

Pupils leaving Sherborne Girls in July 2023 (including those intending to take a gap year) applied to a wide range of universities. They accepted places at 45 different institutions, with three students going to Oxford and two to Cambridge. In addition, places were secured at prestigious overseas universities and competitive arts schools. The girls will take up a range of challenging and inspiring courses including Criminology, Law, Medicine, History, Film Production, Architecture, Languages, Psychology, Engineering and Veterinary Medicine. One pupil has also achieved a highly sought after Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship course in London.

The top ten most popular destinations in this cycle were Birmingham, Bristol, Durham, Edinburgh, Exeter, Newcastle, Oxford, Oxford Brookes, Southampton and UCL.

We are also increasing awareness of Apprenticeships and opportunities at overseas universities and have appointed a member of staff to advise pupils regarding these two specific areas.
