Sherborne Girls in Dorset is celebrating the achievement of its Upper Sixth pupils, with all applicants securing places to study a wide range of challenging courses at university, including Classics at Oxford; Philosophy and Theology, also at Oxford; History at Cambridge; Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at Bristol; European Social and Political Studies at UCL; French and Spanish at Edinburgh; Chemistry at Imperial College and Liberal Arts at Durham. Several of our pupils are beginning courses at prestigious universities abroad, including at Columbia, New York whilst others are taking up places at competitive art schools.

A record-breaking 60% of the cohort submitted entries for the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), all of which were successful, facilitating the pupils in gaining places on the courses of their choice.

Dr Ruth Sullivan, Headmistress said: “This cohort has experienced an extraordinary level of disruption during their Sixth Form and A Level studies, so it has been truly inspiring to see them rise to the challenges presented with maturity, resilience and adaptability. They have made the most of their situation, helping and supporting each other so generously, and I have never failed to be impressed by them.

“I, along with all the staff at Sherborne Girls, wish them every success as they embark on the next stage of their educational journeys.”
